Mrs. Kara Buchanan

Mrs. Kara Buchanan is our 4-day Pre-K teacher. This will be Mrs. Buchanan’s eighth year teaching the program. Mrs. Buchanan has been working with children forever…Babysitting, working as a camp counselor, heading the Mothers of Preschoolers children’s classes and working as a soccer trainer. After graduation from college, Mrs. Buchanan taught first grade at Kossmann school for many years and was an academic assistance teacher and health/PE teacher. Plus, she was a travel soccer coach and the JV soccer coach for West Morris Central High School. Mrs. Buchanan graduated from Villanova University with a degree in elementary education with a Psychology minor.

Mrs. Buchanan has 4 children, ages 19, 17, 16 and 12. Some of her children attended LVCNS and now 2 are at the high school, 1 at the middle school and 1 as a Virginia Tech Hokie. Mrs. Buchanan’s family loves spending time together. Much of that time is on the soccer field, as they ALL play soccer (Mrs. Buchanan even plays on a women’s soccer team). They love the beach, taking walks, swimming and playing games. Mrs. Buchanan also enjoys spending time with her friends, baking with her kids and going on dates with her husband. Mrs. Buchanan says her favorite part of working at LVCNS is seeing the children grow as little learners, smile, laugh, explore and learn about the world around them.
